My Story

While my breastfeeding experience with my first child was a breeze, my second child and I seemed to come across every issue possible. We faced tongue and lip ties, major newborn weight loss, low milk supply, and many visits with an IBCLC. During a weekly breastfeeding support group run by the same IBCLC who helped me, I found I loved learning all things breastfeeding and decided to pursue lactation as a career to help other families.

My background is in Elementary Education, but since 2016 I’ve found myself passionate about babies and breastfeeding. I returned to school and completed my Masters of Arts in Human Lactation Studies. I have been a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) since 2018, enabling me to teach and give advice about car seats as well.

Due to my husband’s job, we have moved frequently over the years. We’ve lived in five states across the US and have been posted abroad to Australia, Cameroon, and El Salvador. Our most recent move and new adventure brings us to where we’re currently residing near Cambridge in the UK. While completing my MA, I did my thesis research on how Americans living abroad access lactation services. I wanted to learn what problems others have encountered so I could be part of the solution with Nature & Nurture.

Both of my children were born while we were away from “home” in Western New York, so I know what it’s like firsthand to face having a new baby while being away from your family. You may not have “the village” closeby that you thought you would. I would love the opportunity to be a part of your village and help as your family transitions and finds your new normal.

I’m looking forward to being a part of your story.
